Batting Practice Highlights >>

9/23/2023 7:10:19 PM

Carter Putney (2024, Carroll, Iowa) pieced together a good round of BP swings, working well to be able to lift the ball with some strength off the barrel. He was able to impact the ball, especially to right field. Putney had a good round of swings attacking pull-side. He showed off a rotational swing that produced good results.

Austin Goodrich (2025, Central City, Iowa) is another bat who had a solid round of BP. The right-handed hitter loads up on the backside and works uphill through contact. He worked well backside with an easy and short path to the ball. Goodrich was able to lift as he extended through it well.

Jackson Blomberg (2024, Rib Lake, Wisc.) pieced together some good swings during BP with a simple and fluid right-handed stroke. He extended through it well with some bat speed, driving the ball well throughout his round of swings. Blomberg attacked all over the field with an on-plane approach, producing good line-drive contact.

John Cromwell (2024, Woodbury, Minn.) had some loud swings during BP, including several home runs. The left-handed hitter had a ton of bat speed and strength to impact. He was rotational through it, impacting well to lift the ball pull-side. He left the yard several times and settled for a wall-banger on another swing. Cromwell worked to the pull-side gap and pull-side for best results.

Spencer Wood (2025, Cedar Rapids, Iowa) handled the bat well during BP with a spread base and weight on his backside, loading up on the backside before swinging hard with good bat speed. He’s a right-handed hitter who had the strength to impact in the air, and he was able to work pull-side for his best results during BP.

Cameron Miller (2027, Nixa, Mo.) swung the bat well during BP, showing off traits to like. He extends through contact well, with some separation showing in the swing, producing some loud contact. He was able to lift and even showed the ability to work backside for good contact with his round of swings. Projectable actions were shown from the right-handed bat.

Milo Athias Finn (2024, Robbinsdale, Minn.) took a good round of BP with a simple step and stride approach to work through the zone. He was able to work pull-side with line drives, being on the barrel with strength to impact the ball. The right-hander made the most of his round of swings.

Abram Decena (2028, Centerville, Iowa) had a ton to like with his round of BP swings, with projectable actions. Decena left the yard by a good distance during the round and then left the yard on another home run swing later in the round. He lifts well and rotates through contact, leveraging well—plenty of good swings that produced loud results during his round of BP swings.

Payton Hall (2024, Chicago, Ill.) is a right-handed hitter who showed some juice in the swing, getting it done as a righty working pull-side. He was able to lift to LF and get out front to drive the ball. He had strength at impact and was able to send one out for a home run.

Aiden Ulrich (2025, West Bend, Iowa) managed a good round of BP swings. He gathers over the backside and then swings hard through the zone and was able to get the barrel working to the ball on an uphill path. He creates some separation as well, with good swings working to the middle of the field, as shown during his round of BP. Ulrich flashed some juice with good results.
