Ian Westendorf (2028, Newcastle, WA) got the start for Team Maroon and pitched two shutout innings where he struck out three. His fastball sat in the low-mid 70s and he mixed in a breaking ball he could land for strikes. With this quality outing and a standout performance with the bat Westendorf should be an intriguing two-way follow the next few years.
Noah Chong (2028, Renton, WA) had his second hit of the day in Game two, this one a louder one that he sent over the CF’s head for a standup double. Chong showed some of the easiest bat speed and power from this 13u/14u group.
Kell VanDehey (2027, Lake Oswego, OR) collected multiple barrels this weekend and in his final game on Sunday sent one deep into the left center gap for a double. Its simple swing where his loose hands deliver an accurate barrel. It’s also a frame that projects for more power that we might see sooner rather than later.
Hunter Gloor (2027, Puyallup, WA) put a quality swing on a low and in fastball where he let it get deep, kept his hands inside of it, and drove it into left for an RBI single. Gloor is another player with a larger projectable frame which could turn into a power LH bat.
Cody Yuki-Kemnitz (2028, Redmond, WA) put a nice swing on an outside fastball where he shortened up and found enough barrel to line it into left for an opposite field single.
