2023 13U/14U Northwest Prospect Showcase (08/26/2023 - 08/27/2023)

6-White vs. 4-Gray Highlights
8/27/2023 4:58:56 AM

Chase Austin (2027, Portland, OR) gave up two runs in his two innings but showed protectable stuff from the left side where he ran his fastball up to 79 that played well up and mixed in a sharp breaking ball with some upside in the mid 60s. Austin also had one of the louder barrels of the game where he pounded a fastball down the RF line for an inside-the-park homerun.

Seika Saito (2027, Issaquah, WA) threw two shutout innings where he showed an athletic delivery where he uses his lower half well with a clean arm action that ran his fastball into the upper 70s. He mixed in a changeup and curveball as well that showed solid shape.

Preston Bolam (2027, Puyallup, WA) had a solid opposite field barrel where he got his hands on top of a high fastball and pounded it into the left-center gap for a double. Bolam keeps it simple in the box where he showed quickness to his hands that stay short to the baseball.

Keagan Soliza (2027. Puyallup, WA) put a real good swing on a high fastball as well and barreled it into left for a single. Soliza showed loose/quick hands from both sides of the plate where he throws a direct and accurate barrel. There's already present bat-to-ball ability that looks to project well at the top of the order.

Xavier Gonzalez (2027, Keizer, OR) had one of the few hits on a breaking ball throughout the day where he recognized a hanger and barreled it into the left for a line drive single.

Ethan Nguyen (2027, Mercer Island, WA) had a hard opposite field single that ended up scoring two for team White. Nguyen showed off strong hands during BP which allow him to throw a faster barrel and impact it better than most ’27 grads.
