2023 13U/14U Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase (08/19/2023 - 08/20/2023)

1-Columbia Blue vs 2-Green Game Highlights
8/20/2023 12:25:00 PM

Jonas Auguste (2027 OF, Lynn, MA) wasted no time driving in a go ahead run in the 3rd inning, jumping on the first FB he saw to line a single to LF with backspin present. The righty displayed solid barrel control and worked directly through the zone with a repeatable path.

Jayden Lugo (2027 C, Bronx, NY) laced a triple to the RF wall to leadoff the frame in his first AB. The right-handed hitter sat back and got into his lower ½ generating some good opposite field power. He again showed off the sweet stroke in his second plate appearance, doubling off the base of the CF wall. Athletic prospect with speed on the bases.

Dante Caridi (2027 C, Bradenton, FL) smoked a single up the middle in the fourth and swiped three bags to come around and tie up the game at two. Controlled load at the plate with lots of whip and physicality through the zone, stays on plane through the zone.

Giovanni Addona (2027 C, Massapequa, NY) roped a single through the 5-6 hole in the bottom of the fourth, keeping his hands above the ball and creating impact out in front. Direct line-drive approach.

Patrick McKeever (2028 RHP, Madison, NJ) drove an RBI double to the left-center gap in the fifth to put his team in front 3-2. The right-hander batters mature approach was on display as he kept his hands high and tight getting the barrel to the inside pitch with ease. The righty also performed well on the mound, racking up seven strikeouts in three innings of work.

Connor Bresler (2028 OF, Glen Gardner, NJ) banged a double off the RCF fence and stole third to come around and score in the sixth. Relaxed right-handed operation at the plate. Creates serious impact with plenty of lower ½ torque.

Kyle Janowicz (2027 3B, Westford, MA) roped a liner into the RCF gap during his final AB of the day, showcasing compact hand speed with the ability to put an inside out stroke on display from the right side.

James Gaven (2028 RHP, Madison, NJ) hammered a line drive single down the LF line in the eighth. The right-handed hitter found the good part of the barrel all game, fouling off pitches and proving to be a difficult out. Compact swing with present athleticism.
