2021 Midwest Prospect Showcase
Jack Welak is a 2025 RHP/3B with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Wauwatosa, WI who attends Catholic Memorial. Smaller frame with plenty of physical development remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch, has a long and offline arm action that comes through clean. Shows a fluid arm path and operation overall with solid mechanics for his age. Simple and repeatable delivery, very low effort at present. Fills up the zone well, fastball shows cut on the glove side and some sinking action when it's low in the zone. Throws a short slider for strikes, limited depth/tilt to the pitch at present but that will come with further developing. He could move the fastball in and out well, and it was very effective when low and inside to left-handed hitters. Young prospect with a solid base and the pieces to really improve as he grows and gets stronger.
