JD James is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Cardinal Mooney. Long and lean build with lots of time and room to fill out and get stronger. Primary outfielder on defense, has athletic actions through the ball, clean glove work at the ball, keeps his momentum through his throws well, makes accurate throws with nice carry for his age. 7.17 runner in the sixty. Right handed hitter, swings hard with good intent, hand drop load can leave him late at times, moves the ball around and has some barrel control, bat speed will continue to improve with added strength and physical maturity. Also pitched, works from a full hands over head delivery and a high 3/4's arm slot. Worked downhill well with a fastball that topped out at 78 mph, gets good running action on the pitch. Also mixed in a slider from a lower arm slot and a change up that he turned over at release. Good athlete who will keep getting better.
