Tanner Stroup is a 2026 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Altoona, PA who attends Altoona Area. Medium, athletic frame with a high waist and a lean build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.00 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, full windup on the mound, compact operation and sinks into lower half well; works to an over-the-top release point and gets on top of the ball well while working down in the zone. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, shows life and is able to generate sinking life to it. Slider shows solid present shape and projects moving forward while changeup has fading life up to 72 mph with low spin rates. Shows ability to manipulate shape to the breaker. Plays back on the ball in the outfield, compact with actions, fields the ball out front and shows a quick transfer, can continue to implement additional momentum into release. Right-handed hitter, begins with a crouched stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a longer stride moving into contact following a hover leg lift. Longer path through the zone with some quickness to hands, long path through the zone and can shorten moving forward, worked to all fields. Very good student.
