Alexander Woods is a 2024 RHP/C, IF, OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Tulsa, OK who attends Jenks. Lengthy and taller frame with broader shoulders. Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. A primary right-handed pitcher who uses a big knee-to-chest leg lift and long backswing arm action as he breaks the hands. He has some deception, hiding the ball in his backside. He works from a three-quarters arm slot. Lands slightly closed at the bottom of the mound, with his lower half holding position well through release/follow-through. His fastball rides through the zone with some cutting action to it, working 78-82 mph and spinning around 2200 RPMs. His breaking ball had 12-6 break to it, showing some feel for the pitch while looking for whiffs. Also mixed in a slider in the low-70s, spinning around 2300 RPMs with more tilt and sweep to it. A right-handed hitter with a wider base and taller setup. Uses toe-tap timing and rotates through the swing, getting out in front and impacting it on the front side. Created some hand separation as well. Lots of line drive contact during his round, with some strength behind the swings. Produced an 87 mph exit velocity during his BP round. Good student.
Worked out in the infield with direct routes to the ball, using his long levers to his advantage. Made the plays and threw across the infield at 81 mph with accuracy and some strength behind the throws. A
