Daniel Nelson is a 2006 left handed pitcher from Glastonbury, Connecticut, with a tall, thin frame at 6'3", 150 pounds. He showed above average mechanics, and his fastball topped out at 78 mph. Nelson throws from a high ¾ arm slot, with a high, deliberate leg kick. He is an effective LHP that uses all his pitches well. His fastball has slight sink, and his curveball has a 2-7 break at 66 mph. He also threw a change up at 71 mph with good sink and good arm speed. Nelson throws all 3 pitches consistently for strikes with a loose arm and tremendous mound presence. He is a very interesting follow.
