Brandon Turner is a 2009 OF/P with a 5'5'', 135 lb. frame from Orange City, FL, who attends DeLand High School. Turner is a very young player (2009) with a lean and athletic build. He has good speed for his size in the sixty, and shows quickness on the bases and in the field. Defensively he has on-line throwing mechanics, and his arm works well with accuracy. Turner is very sound fundamentally and will make all of the plays. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a slightly open stance with his hands tight to his body. Turner shows solid hand quickness, and gets the barrel to the ball in a short and compact stroke. He is a contact hitter who sprays the ball to all fields. He has nice swing, and just needs to mature. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with arm speed. He has a compact arm action with a clean delivery. Turner gets cut action on his FB that topped out at 80 mph, and he mixes in a 65 mph curveball.
