Kanaan Taylor is a 2026 1B/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Brownstown, MI, who attends University Liggett. A medium frame with some athleticism showing in the frame. Has a bigger and physical lower half. Ran a 7.84 60-yard dash. A primary first baseman who fields it up the middle and made accurate throws across the diamond. Threw 72 mph across the infield. A left-handed hitter with high-set hands and a high-back elbow. He had a slightly open setup with his feet getting into an inward toe-tap to stride through it. He rotated hard through contact and was able to drive it. Worked to the pull-side during his round of BP with really good turns. He gets the hands through the zone with intent and met the ball out front for success. Produced an 82 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher with an abbreviated wind-up as his pivot foot is already on the mound as he works into a side-step leg lift up to the belt. Drop and drive delivery with a full arm swing into a three-quarters arm slot. He stays direct to the plate and uses his lower half well to drive down the slope. He worked the fastball up to 79 mph and spun it up above 2,000 RPMs. His breaking ball was in the low-60s and spun up to 2,279 RPMs. He had a good feel for the curveball and showed off a comfortable fastball/curveball mix during live at-bats. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
