Ripken Birdwell is a 2026 MIF/RHP, 2B, 3B, SS, IF, OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Hooks, TX who attends Hooks. Posted a 7.40 in the 60. Primary MIF fitting the part with a strong foundation and feel for the position. Very coordinated look with fluid actions, he works smoothly with athletic footwork and soft glove skill in sync. Easy arm strength with excellent carry across the diamond, very well-rounded look in the infield with a good motor. Slightly less comfortable actions in the outfield, athletic enough to plays at this level with room to grow into it. Transfers the arm strength effectively to the position with a good feel to stay on top of the throws. On the mound the right-hander was up to 74 with the fastball showing off solid pitchability. Has a three-pitch mix with a mature feel for the change up maintaining the arm well and killing the spin for a very effective pitch. The curveball is playable and is able to land 12/6 shape with late downhill bite. Good feel to spin and maintains clean mechanics, has chance to be successful on the mound with two-way impact potential. Good student. Was named to the 2022 Sunshine South Top Prospects List.
