2022 13U/14U Deep South Prospect Showcase
Brooks Bumstead is a 2027 3B/RHP, 1B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Prairieville, LA who attends Dutchtown. Recorded am 8.11 60-yard dash. Primary infielder with a tall frame and present strength. Showed choppy footwork in the infield, working with intent. Displayed the ability to changed slots, was accurate across the diamond, looked comfortable on the slow roller. Reached 75 mph on throws in the infield. Also worked out at first base and smothered the ball with two hand, using a long arm action to throw. Right-handed hitter and starts from a wide base with even feet. Shifts weight on backside and uses a deep hand load. Showcased good bat speed and present pop to pull side. Power projects well. Secondary right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to core level, landing slightly closed. Utilized a long arm swing, releasing from a mid-3/4 slot with standout arm speed. Fastball topped at 79 mph with heavy sink to it. Mixed in sharp slider with hard tilt, proving to miss bats. Named to the 2022 13U/14U Deep South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
