Austin Smith is a 2026 C/RHP, SS with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Chaparral. Recorded a 7.41 sixty yard dash at the event. Tall, lean athletic frame that has room to fill out. Primary catcher. Gets out of the crouch well, staying low and connected to the ground. Shows nice quick twitch back there. Side-saddled stance with softer hands. Secondary infielder. Has some bounce in his step with rhythm fielding the position. Showed some range and accuracy across the field on throws. Secondary right-handed pitcher.The long arm stroke is fluid with release popping out of a low three-quarters slot. Fastball works to both sides of dish with conviction. Curveball showed two plane break with varying tilt to it, gets underneath it at times. Right-handed hitter. Starts from an even base, showing some slashing downhill bat path with minimal lower half coordination. Will continue to get better as strength is added to the frame. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 High School All State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
