Joe Ruiz is a 2024 LHP/OF with a 5-7 136 lb. frame from Thonotosassa, FL who attends Tampa Catholic. Medium height with skinny limbs that have plenty of projection as the body matures. Ran an 8.46 in the sixty yard dash. A primary pitcher, controlled delivery with a longer take back and short arm action. Repeats a 3/4 slot with some short run/sink on the fastball. Worked both sides of the plate, staying in the zone and forcing weak contact. A secondary outfielder, aggressive with the approach and rounds the ball with good timing. Really works through it and has a solid exchange and quick release. Good feel. A left-handed hitter, starts slightly open and works the hands down and through the ball. Looks to extend out front and the top hand fires. Looks to pull line drives.
