Jason Aylesworth is a 2007 OF/2B with a 5'11'', 170 lb. frame from White GA, who attends Woodland HS. He has a slender, quick twitch body with wiry strength. Aylesworth best tool is his speed and he has plenty of it. He ran the 60 in 6.53 and was 4.25 down to first base. Aylesworth is very light on his feet and gets moving at top speeds almost immediately. He showed good arm strength in the outfield to go with his plus range but could use some work on his fielding fundamentals to get his feet and glove hand in better position to field and throw the ball. Offensively, Aylesworth has an unusual approach with his hands that costs him strength in his swing. He has very quick hands but has a late hand hitch to start his swing and actually regrips the bat while he's starting the bat forward. Aylesworth had some bat head skills but didn't have the strength at contact to drive the ball. His plus speed gives him a chance to beat out balls and create havoc on the bases. Aylesworth has the athletic ability to improve with the bat with some adjustments. He is an excellent student.
