2021 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Noah Wasiura is a 2024 C/RHP, OF with a 5-9 181 lb. frame from West Seneca, NY who attends West Seneca West Senior HS. Noah is a stout, solidly built, emerging player who shows strength and a growing ability that should only continue to improve. In addition to his exploits on the diamond, Noah is a solid achiever in the classroom. He ran a 7.52 60 yard dash. On the mound, Noah really excelled. He utilizes a full wind-up and a high leg lift and explodes down the hill. He also incorporates various pauses in his lower half mechanics and he does it quite well, creating a lot of deception for the hitter. He hides the ball well and repeats his arm action with routine consistency. He has a power arm, as evidenced by his 83-86 mph fastball that actually plays up in velocity. He is not afraid to challenge hitters. His 70 mph 11/ breaking ball is thrown with force and shows consistently tight spin. Noah's arm works and he should throw, eventually in the 90's as he moves through his career. Noah is also an accomplished catcher. Hw works out of a one-kneed ready position and will get a little out of balance at times, but this is an action that he appears comfortable with and it works for him for the most part.. His arm is his big tool with the gear on. His 84 mph velocity and 1.93 pop times are highly impressive. His glove action and transition are fine and will improve as his career continues, but his arm strength, especially for a HS freshman, is truly advanced. Noah also worked some in the OF and although this is not one of his primary positions, he was plus average, again, because of his advanced arm strength. Noah shows average positioning and approach to field, his glove is also average and he transitions routinely. Then his arm kicks in. His 90 mph throws were truly impressive. His actions in the OF still need some smoothing out, but that arm plays at any level. Noah takes his aggressive nature with him into the batter's box, also. He is not afraid to cut it loose. His aggressiveness gets him a little off balance at times, but when his timing is right, he can strike the baseball. He does get the barrel to and through contact well, but he just needs to work on his consistency. Tools are there to be a good hitter. Noah is a young player with a great and obvious enthusiasm for the game. He is rooted in fundamental ability and has a bright future ahead of him.
