2021 Pittsburgh Indoor Showcase (Sunday)
Josh Siegel is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from North Huntingdon, PA who attends Norwin HS. Josh is a solidly built emerging player with a sound fundamental approach. In addition to his notable ability on the diamond, Josh is stellar in the classroom. He ran a 7.62 60 yard dash. A primary outfielder, Josh showed consistent and admirable ability. He has a measured and sure approach to positioning and plays through the fielding action well. His transition to throw is consistent and he loads up to cut loose his 78 mph throws. His arm strength, carry, and accuracy are commendable. Josh also took a turn on the mound. Although not his primary position, he did show some feel for pitching. He works off a full wind up and has a built in leg swing. He works down the slope well. He pitches off his 71-74 mph FB that shows decent arm side run. Command and control are routine and age level appropriate. His 62 mph looser spinning curveball has some depth and could develop into a decent secondary offering with continued work. At the plate, Josh shows projectable talent. He starts with a slightly open stance and carries his hands fairly high. He uses a noticeable leg lift to load, time, and trigger. Solid lower half rotation is present. He has some strength in his hands and his bat speed is advanced, He can turn the barrel and drive the ball. He is more of a line drive hitter now, which is a solid approach, but there will be some ability to power the baseball down the road. A lot to like about Josh's ability with the bat. Josh has a chance to markedly improve his game over the next three HS seasons/summer ball. He has a sound approach in all areas. Solid prospect, especially if he adds strength and is exposed to higher level play.
