Drew Grego is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Papillion, NE who attends Bellevue West. Recorded a 6.78 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with an athletic build. Primary shortstop, with smooth feet and very quick and snatchy hands. Strong arm with super quick transfers. Smooth on the slow roller and accurate throws on the run. Right-handed pitcher works from a chest-high leg kick and coils/uncoils the lower half well to create a ton of arm whip with a shorter arm action with a full arm circle and brings the arm through from a high three- quarter arm slot. Minimal effort at release. The fastball (2060 RPM) was mid 80s and topped out at 88. Also showed three secondaries with the slider (2475 RPM) being the best offering at present with tight spin and good downer action and legit out-pitch upside and was able to get swing and misses on it out of the zone. The curveball (2122 RPM) that he could back foot to left-handed hitters, and the change-up (1640 RPM) and kills velocity on well and short vertical bite. Filling the zone early with the fastball and getting a ton of swing and miss on it. Attacked hitters and got weak infield fly balls. Threw the off-speed early in counts. Showed sequencing with low off-speed and working up in the zone with the fastball. Full starter mix that he can throw for strikes and just mowed down hitters through his three innings. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base and square stance with low hands. On plane swing and feel for the barrel with bat speed with real twitch and snap to the swing while staying balanced. Fast hands with nice carry on line drives. Downhill bat path with an all fields approach. In sync swing to the backside rotation and an actual blend of hit and power. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Great student. Nebraska commit. Named to the Central Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
