Tra’ Johnson is a 2027 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-5 135 lb. frame from Lexington, SC who attends White Knoll. Tra' is an emerging athlete who shows multi-position potential. He has an obvious passion and drive to continue growing his game as his career continues. He ran an 8.75 60-yard dash. A primary first baseman, Tra' plays with promising intent. His footwork is commendable, and he positions well. His glove is smooth, and he transitions well. His 65-mph throws are routinely accurate. Tra' also took a turn in the OF where his growing athleticism plays well. He is quick to position and plays through the fielding action well. His glove is sure, and his 67-mph throws are certain. Tra' also worked off the mound where his free and loose arm action plays well. His mechanics are simple and concise, and he repeats them well. He is a two-pitch strike thrower. His well-commanded 63-64 mph fastball is worked mostly to the arm side edge and down in the zone. His 12-to-6 shaped 51-mph curveball is a sound compliment to his FB and shows plus shape and spin. At the plate, Tra' has more of a rotational swing operation. His hands are active early, and he gets his bat on course well. His path is fairly flat with some lift at contact. There is a lot to like about his swing operation and his ability to contact the ball with the barrel regularly. Tra' has a sound foundation to build on and it is quite obvious the game is important to him. As he gains further experience and physically matures, he should have a chance to play at a higher level.
