Riley Leatherman is a 2024 RHP/SS with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Maple Grove, MN who attends Wayzata. Slender young athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Long and loose arm action, some energy to his delivery but repeats his mechanics well, gets downhill well to the plate. Fastball worked in the low 90's and topped out at 93 mph, works comfortably to the arm side with his fastball and gets some riding action up. Change up was very solid offering with big horizontal break, has confidence in his change up and will throw it at any time. Slider had power and a tight break two plane break to it. Three pitch starter profile, it will be interesting to see if he has another step up in raw stuff with additional strength. Good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina.
