Matthew Mayer is a 2023 C/RHP/IF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Commack, NY who attends Commack. As a primary catcher, Mayer used a lower arm slot to produce quick transfers out of the glove with accurate throws down to second. The '23 grad has repeatable sound mechanics that recorded a 2.03 pop time. On the mound, he worked exclusively from the stretch with short compact mechanics that displayed no wasted movements. He worked from a low 3/4 slot with a FB up to 78 mph and a solid 10-4 slider showcasing late bite to it. Offensively, Mayer started from a slightly open stance with a hover trigger that produced consistent middle pull side contact. Ran a 7.62 sixty yard dash.
