2021 California Workout Camp Session 5
Lukas Beltran is a 2025 RHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Burbank, CA who attends John Burroughs. Medium frame with a lean build showing room to add to the frame physically. Ran a 7.80 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with an overall smooth operation as he proved he could repeat his actions. Long, loose arm action in the back as he gained ground down the mound before releasing from a high three-quarter slot. Stays in sync throughout the duration of the motion. Fastball up to 75 mph with good arm side run. Mixed in a big breaking ball showing 11-to-5 break that he proved he could land for strikes. Changeup was his most advanced off-speed pitch as he proved he could sink it hard late. Comfortable working both sides of the dish and projects on the mound going forward. Secondary Outfielder, aggressive routes to and through the baseball. A bit narrow upon gathering before working into an uphill release. Proved he can generate carry when he gets on top the baseball. Threw it 77 mph with accuracy during drills. Secondary First Baseman, confident with the glove as he scooped it up out front. Quick turns while showing the proper footwork turning two. Athletic in his actions and was accurate with throws. Fits the first base profile well. Right-Handed Hitter, starting very wide with high hands above the ear. Low leg lift trigger before striding out. Occasional lift to swing as he proved to have some feel for it when he timed it up.
