Luke Loving is a 2027 3B/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Bellaire, TX who attends Strake Jesuit College Prep. Long athletic frame that projects well. Ran a 7.43 second 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, simple corner actions and glove plays well, balanced at receiving and transitions into release well, good mid-70s arm strength across. Similar in the outfield, working through the ball well and loose arm to release with good carry to bags. Pitches too, stretch only and has good components, short and quick arm stroke through a higher release, gets some plane on the fastball up to 77, overwhelms with it a bit, showed feel for big sweeping breaking ball, innate feel to spin, lots of components that project pretty well. Left-handed hitter, wide base and lets the strength work, simple swing on a clean path, good feel for the barrel and showed some juice to the pull side, lots of line drives to the gaps and performed really well with the bat in game action. Named to 2022 13/14 Fall South Showcase Top Prospect List.
