Tiago Sanchez is a 2023 SS/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Madison, WI who attends Madison West. Recorded a 7.58 second 60 yard dash time. Medium frame and slender build with room to fill. Primary shortstop, circles it well and showed good footwork getting to the ball. Displayed feel for the glove and soft hands on the backhand attempts, reads the hops and moves well laterally. Clean round overall with solid defensive actions. Secondary right-handed pitcher, long arm action with some plunge in the back. High intent thrower with a head whack, utilizes a slow and controlled operation until release where he really whips the arm through. Creates some natural cut to the fastball, flashed a 12/6 curveball with big vertical drop. Right-handed hitter with a small leg lift trigger, fires the hips well and does a nice job of shooting the ball to the opposite field gap. Downward swing path, limited load and quiet lower half approach. Good balance throughout the swing, contact oriented hitter. Power potential will improve as he gets stronger and fills out the frame.
