Bennett Burke is a 2025 OF/LHP with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Sparta, WI who attends IMG Academy. A medium frame with a strong build and physical lower half. Ran a 7.09 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder who charges the ball working low to the ground, and then fields it out front, letting it go from a higher slot, with some trunk tilt at release. Throws came out at 80 mph and were on a lower flight with good accuracy. He settled into the round well and showed one-hop accuracy to the plate. He was direct with the footwork and had actions that should continue to develop moving forward. He's a left-handed hitter with an even base, higher-set hands, and a quicker leg lift before driving through the zone. He's got some strength off the barrel and showed the ability to create some separation. He was able to create some leverage and lift during the round and pieced together some good contact in the air pull-side during his round of BP swings. Solid round of BP. Produced an 84 mph exit velocity during PG Tech testing. Also took to the mound as a left-handed pitcher, working from the wind-up. He sidesteps into a leg lift up above the belt. Showed a longer arm stroke, releasing from a higher three-quarters arm slot, with some quickness to the arm circle. He shortens the leg lift up a bit out of the stretch as needed. The fastball showed good arm-side run and sink to it. He would mix pitches, showing a 1-7 shaped curveball as well, flashing good depth to the pitch. He flashed the occasional changeup with some fade to it as well. He was efficient, missing barrels to induce weak contact. Fielded his position well as needed, making the play on a ball hit back to the mound. Threw 2.0 innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 1 opposing hitter. Great student.
