2023 West Coast Prospect Showcase
Tate Preece is a 2025 2B/C with a lean 6-0 155 lb. frame from El Centro, CA who attends Brawley Union HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.50 60-yard dash. A primary second baseman that catches as well. At the plate Preece starts with a wider, sturdy base. Showed good bat speed and extension through contact. Had the ability to barrel up the baseball on a consistent basis in his BP round using a pull approach and driving a few line drives in the gap. Showed solid actions on the dirt working through the baseball and delivering accurate throws across the diamond. Behind the plate Preece demonstrated he had the ability to make accurate, crisp throws to second base consistently using the proper foot techniques. Excellent student.
