2022 California Workout Showcase (Saturday)
Carter Tucker is a 2025 SS/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-10 133 lb. frame from El Centro, CA who attends Imperial. A slender build. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop with fundamental footwork taking efficient angles to the ball, shows some solid glove work to both sides with some ability to move laterally, funnels it to the waist and throws from a lower arm slot making accurate throws. Has the ability to make all the plays. At the plate he starts from an upright and square stance with toe tap timing. Swing gets loopy, limited use of the lower half, and does a nice job of using the middle of the field. On the mound he starts from a semi-windup delivery with tall and fall mechanics throughout. Decent stride length down the mound with short arm action and an over the top slot. Fastball sat in the low 70's and got up to 76 with some occasional arm side movement. Curve has slurvy shape to it with some bite to it. Maintained arm speed on the change-up which had some fade to it. Excellent student.
