Grady Frese is a 2026 SS/RHP, C, 1B, 2B, 3B with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Norway, IA who attends Benton Community. A medium frame and bigger build. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder who had quicker feet with a clean backhand and good range showing throughout his round. He was able to be accurate on the throws with a shorter release. Throws were at 76 mph across the diamond. Glovework was fundamental. A right-handed hitter with an even base and higher-set hands with a high back elbow. He lifts the front foot and works direct to the ball, driving it well to the backside gap during his round of swings. Quick and on-plane stroke through the zone, being able to create line drive contact to the middle of the field. Created some backspin. Pulls the front side out and utilizes the whole field. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher who worked out of the stretch only; throws came out of a lower three-quarters arm slot. Creates some whip to the arm. Had good direction in his move down the mound. Leg lift was slower and deliberate up above the belt, then breaks and worked down the slope, keeping that good direction. Fastball was into the upper 70s and paired with a slider that had lateral depth to it. He showed a true splitter that he killed spin on down to 1,086 RPMs with great depth to it. Missed bats with the splitter. Threw 2.0 innings and allowed 2 hits with 2 punchouts as well. Good student.
