Danny De La Torre is a 2027 OF/RHP, 1B, 2B, 3B, UT with a 5-11 194 lb. frame from Temecula, CA who attends Santiago. Features a medium-sized compact build with some present strength. Ran a 7.85 60-yard dash. In the OF, showed an aggressive approach where he comes in hard creating good momentum into throws. Showed a clean transfer into a loose arm action release that got off accurate throws. In the INF, he exhibited rawer defensive actions. Avg. footwork and quickness but got to his spots getting his glove down on time. Kept the same arm action in the OF working it up to 74 mph across with accuracy. Presently, shows some corner projection. At the plate, he sits in a wider base and uses a smaller leg lift gather. Showed some strength to the hands that throw a direct barrel to the baseball with some length through the zone. Got jammed up at times but when he got extended out front he produced some loud contact flashing some gap power. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch. Gathers with a mid chest knee lift. Works more tall/fall as he initiates drift well down the mound to gain momentum and works hard into landing. His arm works into a continuous circle in the back but that gets inside of 90 degrees of elbow flexion. Creates some decent layback before release up to a H ¾ slot. His fastball was up to 74 showing some natural cutting action. Flashed an upper 50s developing breaking ball.
