Davis Downer is a 2024 OF/1B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Mukilteo, WA who attends O'Dea. Showed plus speed with a 6.75 second sixty. Primary outfielder with a strong build showing strength throughout the frame. Fields the ball off his left foot in the outfield with an under control approach working through the ball into a short arm action with good arm speed. Made accurate throws topping out at 83 mph with proper footwork getting rid of the ball with game like actions. Funnels the ball cleanly on the infield showing good actions on the double play feeds with the ability to keep the ball on the right side of the bag. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base loading the hands deep pre-swing with no trigger in the lower half. Bat path works through the zone with on a uphill track with the ability to create leverage at the point of contact with solid strength and bat speed helping to create carry to all fields. Very good student. Named to the 2022 National Underclass West Showcase Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Washington State.
