Cort Miller is a 2022 SS/RHP/C with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Midland, TX who attends Midland Classical Academy. Cort is a solidly built athlete, with quick and twitchy actions. His innate ability is certain and sure, and should allow for his continued growth in the game. In addition to possessing outstanding fundamental ability, Cort is also an exemplary student in the classroom. His easy running speed was highlighted by an excellent 6.93 60 yard dash time. A natural middle infielder, Cort brings a high energy approach to defense. He is fluid in and with his movement and his quick and agile footwork allow for him to position with confidence. His glove, due primarily to his very soft hands, plays well. His 75 mph throwing velocity is highlighted by his quick trigger and consistent accuracy. Although his future is probably as a MIF, Cort did take his turn on the mound and showed advancing ability. He uses a compact delivery and a tight, high 3/4 arm slot and repeats his actions quite well. His 77-79 mph fastball is thrown to both edges and shows some tailing life at the dish. His 71 mph breaking ball is a hybrid that shows curveball spin and slider break. His 73 mph change-up is a thrown out of the fastball window, with fastball arm speed and has tumble late at the plate. His solid build truly shows well at the plate. His longer arms and legs help provide sound leverage with each swing. There is some length to his pass but he appears to have sound and consistent rhythm and timing and an advanced ability to get his barrel to and through contact with force. Cort flashed some impressive raw power a few times which should allow him to grow as a middle of the order type hitter. Plus upside ability for this player!
