Sebastian Barrera is a 2025 C/RHP/OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Los Fresnos, TX who attends Los Fresnos. Long and lean athletic build with lots of projection ahead. 6.94 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has athletic actions behind the plate, quick exchange and release on his throws, solid arm strength. Also plays the outfield and has the tools to be a very good outfielder with nice athletic flow through the ball and the ability to get on top of his throws and create accurate one-hop carry. Right handed hitter, hits from a very wide base, has a loose downhill swing path, creates back spin when the ball gets in the air, bat speed will continue to improve as he gets stronger. Took a turn on the mound, drop and drive lower half mechanics to the plate, worked mostly with his fastball, topped out at 83 mph with some sink down in the zone. Good student, verbal commitment to Texas Rio Grande Valley.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
