Luke Descheneaux is a 2021 2B/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Lowell, MA who attends Lowell. Recorded a 5.35 second 40-yd dash time. Medium frame with high waist and plenty of room to fill out. Primary infielder with a very deliberate, developing defensive skill set. Uses long limbs to gather grounders out in front with a clean funnel and exchange. Shows elongated arm stroke into release, with arm strength recorded up to 72 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher with simple, repeatable delivery, showing ability to command both sides of the plate from a three-quarters arm slot. Uses a small side-step rocker into balance with long, deep plunge on the back side of arm stroke. Fastball worked in the 70-71 mph range for duration of outing, mixing in a curveball with loose spin at 61 mph to disrupt hitters timing. Left-handed hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set and leg lift trigger. Aggressive approach with good lower half connection and occasional pull-side power. Tends to get steep on an otherwise flat swing plane with some inconsistent bat-to-ball skills. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Good Student.
