Ben Taxdahl is a 2021 RHP/OF with a 6-1 197 lb. frame from Prior Lake, MN who attends St. Thomas Academy. He ran a 7.13 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a large physical frame showing present strength throughout. He showed the ability to mix pitches and work with a plan, He sat 86-89 mph with his fastball with occasional arm side run that he used well in on righties, he showed two distinct breaking balls, a slider with good horizontal break at 77 and a true 12-6 curveball with late depth, competes well on the mound and fills up the zone. Int eh outfield he fields the ball off the side bringing it in with a clean transfer, foot work is still developing but he does a nice job getting rid of the ball with a quick release on his strong throws at 87 mph. At the plate he showed real bat speed with a 93 mph exit velocity from the right side, uses low leg lift rider with a slight coil in the load, has solid power to the pull side. Named to the 2020 Central Prospects Top Prospects List. Good student.
