2022 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 6)
Vincent Van Hemert is a 2023 1B/IF with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from South Miami, FL who attends St. Brendan. Large frame with an athletic build. Broad shoulders with strength starting to show. Ran a 7.47 second sixty yard dash. Primary First Baseman, proper footwork showing around the bag during drills. Clean gather on ground balls with confidence. Scoops it up and had a quick release while turning two. Accurate to the bag while up to 82 mph with throws. Fundamentally sound with feel for the position present. Right-Handed Hitter, wide base to start while slightly open. Knee to knee type load before working into a longer stride out. Fires the hands as he keeps the barrel through the zone for an extended time. Pop in the swing when he times it up properly.
