Pierce Cowles is a 2023 SS/C with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Fairfield, CT who attends Fairfield College Preparatory. Medium ,athletic frame with some present strength proportioned throughout and additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, smooth funnel working into an over-the-top release point,, shows quickness to arm and glove plays at the ball, extra step moving into release, repeats actions nicely. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread and slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Long swing path through the zone with quickness to the barrel, occasionally late with front foot trigger. Incorporates strength well, squared up a couple of well struck balls to pull side in live action, gets the barrel through with comfort turning on it. Good student. Named to New England Indoor Top Prospect List.
