Eli Thomas is a 2025 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Shorecrest Preparatory. Ran a 7.19 second sixty. Primary short stop with a medium athletic build. Showed a good first step on the infield moving well laterally with good hands. Gets rid of the ball quickly with solid game like actions showing young arm strength that will continue to improve with added arm strength. Starts with a side step into a belt high leg lift with a short pause at the top. Stays on line with the arm stroke through the back up to a high three-quarters arm slot. Does a nice job getting on top of the fastball at 78-81 mph. Was able to get some swing and miss on the curveball with top to bottom 12-6 action and later bite through the hitting zone. Left-handed hitter, starts narrow with a slightly open stance. Gets back to even with a leg lift trigger. Does a nice job of stay on plane with a level bat path showing some looseness in the wrist creating whip to the barrel. Showed some developing bat speed with an ability to stay on time and spray the ball around the field in game action. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 Sunshine Eat Top Prospect List.
