Justice de Jong is a 2025 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Poly Prep Country Day. Extra-large, athletic frame with broadness to shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, utilizes a big hip turn at top of delivery, lands closed with strike foot coming down the mound; tight and quick arm action through the backside working up to a three-quarters release point. Clean and easy arm action through the back, very low effort release while sitting mid-80s, up to 87 mph in this look, repeats release well and worked around the zone nicely. Curveball shows 11-5 shape p to 70 mph with good spin and depth through the zone; mixed with comfort and kept hitters off balance. Moves around well in the dirt, third base tools and actions with big arm strength and carry across the diamond, slower gather but works behind the ball and makes the plays, fuller arm action on throws. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, upright stance and utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Compact stroke and incorporates physical strength well into swing, shows big bat speed from launch to point of contact. Occasionally gets rotational and creates top spin, impressive strength and impact to pull side gap, does a nice job of remaining short to the ball. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Duke.
