Saul Garcia is a 2023 C/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Escondido, CA who attends San Pasqual Academy. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.76 seconds. Hits from upright stance with slightly open hips, high hands and low back elbow, length to stroke out of launch, pulls front side open, barrel is last thing to turn. Worked out behind the plate, drops to knee to throw frequently, quickened release with some accuracy, clocked up to 63 mph on throws. Also pitched, rigid arm stroke to 3/4 slot, fastball worked 67-69 mph with some sink, showed slow curveball. Very good student.
