Emmanuel Huerta is a 2021 OF/RHP, IF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from National City, CA who attends Montgomery. Large frame with a lean, athletic type build showing plenty of fast twitch type muscle. Ran a quick 6.83 second sixty yard dash. Primary Outfielder, great first step instincts as he read it well off the barrel while taking aggressive routes into the baseball. Does a good job carrying momentum into gather and release. Arm strength showing in a big way as he threw it 92 mph during drills. Feel for the position showing as he projects here going forward. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a fluid, loose delivery as he utilized drop & drive mechanics. Full arm circle in the back as he drives down the mound while getting extended. Pounds the strike zone with a solid three pitch mix. Fastball showing good arm side run as he ran it up to 85 mph. Mixed in a sweeping slider in the low-70's and a fading changeup as well. Secondary Infielder, smooth lateral movements as he worked around the baseball with some feel. Clean funnel out front as he worked into a quick transfer. Intent showing with throws as he missed up at times but the arm strength was present here as well. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced and under control. Creates separation and then fires the lower half while generating big bat speed. Impacts out front while showing he could drive it deep into both gaps. Advanced bat on ball skills showing that bodes well his fast twitch type play. Named to California Workout Camp Top Prospect List.
