Fernando Hernandez is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Central Pointe Christian. Large, athletic frame with some present strength to frame proportioned, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.68 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate, showed game actions during drills, gains ground with lower half and shows consistent footwork, receives ball out front, smooth release with nice arm strength on throws down to second base. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an even stance, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball, creates some lift to swing path and projects for more strength with additional lower half incorporated. Strength in hands play, comes off the barrel well when squared with jump, tools to project upon.
