Dylan Long is a 2021 C/1B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Whittier, CA who attends La Serna. Large frame with broad shoulders and strength. Primary catcher with a wide, slight side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards the bag while working out of crouch. Efficient exchanges while working to a taller throwing position. Released from a three-quarter slot showing some carry to the bag at 71 mph, best workout pop time of 2.12. Right handed hitter with a slightly crouched, even stance. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Showed present bat speed and strength while employing a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Ball jumps off barrel well with easy carry to the gaps when squared. Excellent student.
