2021 WWBA Workout Showcase (July 14)
Owen Adkin is a 2022 3B/2B, SS, OF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Alpheratta, GA who attends Kings Ridge Christian. Recorded a 7.06 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with present lower half strength. Primary infielder with deliberate footwork into and through the fielding process. Displayed elongated strides to laterally range to either side, deeper funnel out in front and developing arm strength up to 72 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that hits from an exaggerated narrow stance with a low hand set, high back elbow and bog forward stride into launch. Intent based swing with big pre-swing movements, creates tons of leverage and separation out in front. Displayed plenty of present bat speed with loud impact and big time power potential to the pullside. Pre-swing movements cause some timing issues but flashes legitimate homerun power with carry and backspin.
