Matthew Quintana-Quirindongo is a 2021 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends St. John's Preparatory. Recorded a 4.81 second 40-yd dash time. Medium frame with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Primary left-handed pitcher with a smooth operation and ability to sequence his pitches with purpose. Uses a side-step rocker into an inward leg lift, while landing slightly closed at foot strike. Uses a high three-quarters arm lot with slight stab in the back-end of his arm circle. Shows ability to command both sides of the plate well, while adding and subtracting to his fastball. Sat mid-70s for the majority of his outing, topping out at 77 mph and mixing in a slower curveball with 12-to-6 shape. Secondary outfielder with a projectable frame and developing arm strength. Exhibits light feet while fielding out in front and gaining some momentum through release. Recorded throws up to 82 mph in drills, while showing accuracy to his target. Right-handed hitter with an even base, heavy backside load and leg lift trigger. Contact oriented stroke with consistent bat-to-ball skills and middle of the field to pull side approach. Profile on the mound is currently ahead of offense, but offensive skill will improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Excellent Student.
