Grant Smith is a 2023 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Phoenix, AZ who attends Pinnacle. Big and strong young build, still 14 years old and exceptionally strong and athletic for that age. 6.84 runner in the sixty. Long and loose arm action on the mound, H 3/4's arm slot, easy well paced delivery, low effort out front with a very loose wrist on release. Steady upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, maintained his velocity very well throughout his entire outing, especially when working from the windup, gets nice sinking and running action to his fastball. Primary fastball pitcher but mixed in his slider more and more in his later innings, has some bite and a big sweeping break, still looking for consistency on the release. Strike thrower with both pitches. Right handed hitter, hanging big front leg load, pretty short swing for his size, has some whip and bat speed and the ball comes off the barrel hard, hits tall, has projection with the bat. Very high ceiling prospect. Good student. Named to the West Coast Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
