Adrian Santana is a 2023 SS with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, some present strength with additional room to fill throughout. Excellent runner with fast-twitch muscle, posted a 6.16 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, athleticism plays with advanced actions in the dirt, soft hands with smoothness and shows lateral range to either side; higher slot on throws across with carry, quick transfer and release. Switch-hitter, begins with a slightly open stance from the right side where he shows best comfort; subtle hand draw back into load, shows quickness to stroke and repeats well, implements lower half weight shift nicely, mostly linear contact to pull side with occasional lift. Compact swing from the left side, shows ability to turn over the barrel while creating some lift at the point of contact, contact oriented approach, shows quickness to hands. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Miami. Named to the 2022 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
