2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Trey Smith is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Winter Garden, FL who attends Foundation Academy. Long and slender young build with lots of physical projection remaining. Throws from a 3/4's arm slot and sometimes lower, upper body crossfire delivery with a hard front side on landing, some energy at release. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, showed very good life when down in the zone with lots of heavy sink and run and occasional cut, can work down more often for increased effectiveness. Soft downer curveball lacks present power but he repeats his release on it well and lands it for strikes. Will continue to improve as he gets physically stronger. Very good student.
