Ashton Yelder is a 2025 3B/RHP/SS with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Montgomery, AL who attends Lowndes Academy. Outstanding young athletic build with broad shoulders and tons of physical projectability. Moves well for his size, 7.09 in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, is light on his feet and keeps his feet moving well, charges the ball well and stays balanced, has energy to his defensive actions, plenty of young arm strength across the diamond. Also played first base but is too athletic for that position at present. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a deep and high hand load, gets good extension on his swing, fires his hands well although late at times, gets the ball in the air consistently, big power in their in the future. Also took a turn on the mound, has simple mechanics with a short stride out front, not using his strong lower half much. Steady upper 70's fastball with some sinking action, slider was an effective pitch for him with some bit and good power, flashed a change up. Threw strikes with all three pitches. Very interesting young prospect. Excellent student. Named to the Sunshine Mid-South Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
