Owen Rhoads is a 2024 RHP/SS with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Birdsboro, PA who attends Twin Valley. Recorded a 5.17 second forty-yard dash time. Long, slender frame with square shoulders and plenty of room to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with deliberate pace to it and good lower half movements down the slope. Incorporates slightly coiled leg lift, drop-and-drive mechanics down the slope and generates good extension out in front. Fastball worked in the mid-70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 77 mph in this look from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashes some natural arm-side run and he has the ability to work both sides of the plate with it. Mixed in a developing breaking ball that varied in shape and a telegraphed changeup that will both need to be refined in order to become viable options. Will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a low hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Middle-of-the field approach with slightly downhill swing plane and some feel for the barrel. Exhibits fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills and occasional line drive impact when on-time and in-sync. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Developing, young prospect with plenty of physical projection remaining and upside on both sides of the ball.
